DOCUMENTARY SERIES LOS VIAJES DE BARULE

“Los Viajes de Barule” are stories of young Afro-descendant musicians who sing their stories of daily living, overcoming, pain and love through the lyrics of Afro rhythms. Neighborhood musicians who, from their own aesthetics, integrate their traditions with modern ways of life, where beat and sound merge with the guazá and the marimba; where migration to the cities, marginalization and lack of opportunities are mitigated with tumbao, salsa shoque, the lyrics of rap or reggae. Boys who do not succumb to adversity, but on the contrary sing, enjoy and enjoy their musicality, their orality, their laughter and their sexuality; strengthened by their ethnic tenacity and their determination to transform reality and forge a better future.
